Any number of emergencies or disasters may strike Webster County on a given day. We are all vulnerable to natural disasters,
bioterrorist attacks or public health emergencies.The Webster County Health Unit continually plans, practices and refines its emergency response plan, but a large part of that plan depends on the citizens of Webster County taking the initiative to prepare for emergencies as well. You can help your family be ready for emergencies with three simple steps:
Write down what each family member will be expected to do in an emergency. Know how to contact each other if you are separated. Identify a family meeting place inside and outside your neighborhood. Write down contact information for someone who lives out-of-state. When local phone service is out, each family member can contact this person to let him know where they are and if they are hurt. Prepare Assemble an emergency preparedness kit for your home and your vehicle. Each emergency kit should contain at least:
ParticipateVolunteer in your community. Many agencies utilize volunteers in an emergency as well as on a daily basis. Here are a few agencies with which you can volunteer.
